Jane G. Dawley, Class of 1961
Died January 10, 1961, in her seventeenth year
Every class depends on a small group of leaders to establish its character, set its policies, and manage its activities. Such a leader was Jane Dawley. Janey had that vital spark in her life which made her loved and respected by everyone at Mabelvale High Shcool.
Janey was secretry of the senior class, president of the Beta Club, and secretary-treasurer of the Science Club during this, her senior year. She was also a member of the Math Club, Latin Club, National Honor Society, and Student Council.
Janey ranked amoung the top five seniors scholastically. She was elected the "Most Likely to Succeed" of the senior class. This honor was most fitting to Janey for she DID succeed in everything she undertook to do.
It would be impossible to describe all of Janey's assets and the contributions she has made to our school. One thing is sure: Jane Dawley will live forever in the hearts of Mabelvale High School students.
