Roy Knabe, 74, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016. Memorial service: No service at this time. Roy was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Little Rock, Ark., to Alden and Ethel Stanton Knabe. He went to school in Little Rock and moved to Texas to begin his career at Bell Helicopter Textron. He retired after 40 years in Quality Control Management. His lifelong passion was fishing. He won many tournaments and trophies. Tournament trails were: Fort Worth West Side Bass Club, Angler's Choice and sponsored by fishing pro Gary Yamamoto, Pro Team, Bass Champs and Bell Helicopter to name a few. He also loved a good game of golf. Roy made a hole in one at Whitestone Golf Club in Benbrook. He had the honor of playing in the Colonial County Club Pro-Am in 1997 with pro golfer Steve Pate. Roy was predeceased by his parents and brother, Raymond Knabe. Survivors: His wife, Beverly Knabe; daughter, Kiki Knabe McCann (Brian McCann); stepdaughter, Deanna Clayton; grandsons, Bradley Colvin and Jeremy Wilkinson; nephew, Mike Knabe; niece, Rhonda Knabe Moore; and many friends.
